Civil Disobedience
Part 1
Most people remember Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as reformers who practiced non-violent forms of protest and advocacy. Both effectively changed the popular opinion about emotional issues for their countries and brought in a wave of change that was long overdue. But the practice of non-violent protest, or civil disobedience, started long before either Gandhi or King. It began with a quiet, shy poet who is best known for writing a lot about a pond.
Henry David Thoreau lived from 1817 until 1862, mainly in the area of Concord, Massachusetts. The issue that would tear the country apart in the 1860s had already begun dividing the nation. Thoreau was only 14 when Nat Turner led the slave rebellion in Virginia and was later hanged. In his late 20s, Thoreau began speaking against slavery in public, echoing the voices of freedmen like Frederick Douglass and Lewis Hayden.
Thoreau believed that a government that supported slavery was corrupt and immoral. He was also deeply suspicious of government. For these and other reasons, Thoreau refused to pay his poll tax for a number of years. The poll tax was a legal tax owed by every person. It was basically a tax on one's body. After not paying for years, he was at last arrested. He spent only one night in jail, however, as a relative paid the tax for him. He was reportedly furious that any tax was paid on his behalf.
It was this experience that Thoreau wrote about in an essay called "Civil Disobedience." In this essay, he argued that being moral and just came before allegiance to government. He wrote "If the machine of government is of such a nature that it requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then, I say, break the law." He also felt that voting was not enough to ensure that the right thing be done. He wrote that "even voting for the right is doing nothing for it A wise man will not leave the right to the mercy of chance" He felt that one had a moral responsibility to resist unjust laws.

Perhaps even more surprising than CGI influencers' persuasive power is how well they blend among humans. The Fullscreen study showed 42 percent of the young people they surveyed had followed an influencer they hadn't realized was not human.
Mulhern said CGI influencers will likely become "indistinguishable from real people" as technology improves.
While the possibility of a CGI influencer who looks completely human may appeal to brands, Diane Pacom, a retired sociology professor at the University of Ottawa in Canada, worries about the social implications.
"That slowly but surely we're living in a world where the real and the unreal — or the real and what is given, what has been constructed — will be completely confused, then fused," Pacom said.

Answer: when I have a job, I will save for a car. I’ll probably need to save around $10,000. I would choose to save for a car because then i wouldn’t have to get someone else to drive me. If I could drive myself to work then I would be able to take more hours. Which in return would allow me to make more money for the second and third expensive thing I want to bye. An added bonus I could drive myself anywhere I wanted to not necessarily just to work. So that’s why I would save up for a car.

humbleness,

, joy
Answer:
I love smiley faces
They bring kindness to many places
I have compassion for the smiles they give
They fill me with joy and greatness, and so on i'll live
But I must take responsibility of this gift
For the humbleness smiley faces shift
The smiles they bring is a huge success
makes me hopeful and try to guess
when will another smiley face be reborn?
They just live on forever and more.
Smiley faces bring peace
to the world, and everything that eats
Happiness to the world, making things green
Smiley faces will not make everything seem so mean!
Babies giggle and not cry
for smiley faces make everyone happy they try
trash on the ground there's not!
smiley faces make people pick it up
and on with the day they thought

The central idea of the given stanza is to show that the speaker is a nobody and also that there is banishment waiting if people find out that they are nobodies.
What is a Central Idea? This refers to the main reason why an author writes a text or stanza as he wants to convey an idea to his audience.Polis was a form of city-state in Ancient Greece. It was consisted of the center with the Acropolis which was a sacred center.
Small farms were scattered around the land but most of people lived in the urban area. Each polis was different from the other and that is why it was considered to be like a separate state.
Hence, we can see that based on the given lines in the poem, there is the narration of the words of the speaker who declares that he is a nobody and urges for silence so that they would not be banished.

Answer:
Her mother tells her to Think of William Woodson because he was the only black boy in an all-white school and he was able to make it through school due to his bravery and determination. Her mother tells her to think of him when she is scared and remember his courage and determination during that situation. Lord of the Flies – Chapters 9, 10,11, 12
1. What does Simon learn about the beast?
2. What are Piggy’s last words? What does it signify about society?
3. Who is the Lord of the Flies? What does it represent?
4. Why is the naval officer disappointed in the boys?
5. Make connections between this story and other books, movies, tv, or a real-life situation.
Answer:
1. Simon discovers that the so called beast of the island, in really nothing more than the body of a dead airman. His parachute had become tangled and stuck in the trees. Simon cuts the lines of the parachute and allows the body to slip away. He realizes that he has to go and tell the other boys that there is no beast.
2.His last words are, "Which is better, law and rescue, or hunting and breaking things up?" Piggy has represented the thinker, the intellect, throughout the story. He tries to be the voice of reason but he is ignored and ridiculed. Golding is saying, through this, that reason in all of society is ignored and ridiculed.
3.In this way, the Lord of the Flies becomes both a physical manifestation of the beast, a symbol of the power of evil, and a kind of Satan figure who evokes the beast within each human being. Looking at the novel in the context of biblical parallels, the Lord of the Flies recalls the devil, just as Simon recalls Jesus.
4.The naval officer is disappointed because the boys did not behave like the good little British schoolchildren in Coral Island.
5.William Golding's 1954 novel "Lord of the Flies" tells the story of a group of young boys who find themselves alone on a deserted island. They develop rules and a system of organization, but without any adults to serve as a civilizing impulse, the children eventually become violent and brutal. This connects to life because without adults or parents children can’t provide for themselves without causing cahos. I also like to connect this book to the Nickelodeon movie Jimmy Neutrion.

What did you learn about standing up for others who are being treated badly from Wiesel's memoir? How was this conveyed by his use of foreshadowing?
Answer: I learned when someone is going through something horrible you should help them out and say everything will be ok !!!.
Explanation:
That is what I will put ! Good luck I hope it is correct but I don’t know how to answer the second question
The memoir written by Wiesel helped us to learn that if an individual is going through a bad phase, then other persons should have helped him/her. This was actually conveyed from the use of foreshadowing.
Who was Eli Wiesel?Eli Wiesel was an American author who got the Nobel peace prize in the year 1986.
Wiesel's memoir was about the experiences of his childhood during the time of the Holocaust. The Holocaust was the bad phase that Wiesel has gone through and he has helped the people who were suffering from it. Foreshadowing is used to give a hint about the earlier incident which is going to happen at the end of the story.
Therefore, the sense of standing in support of others who are in the bad phase is the lesson that has been learned from Wiesel's memoir.

In the last stanza of the poem, the speaker describes how he imagines looking back on this decision (“ages and ages” later) and describing it to others. Does this stanza express the same attitude about his choice of path, or does it bring a new perspective to that decision?
"I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."
Answer:
The last stanza is consistent with the others in saying that the grassier, less worn path was the best decision. Also, it follows the others in that the speaker doesn’t dwell on the other possibilities he might have faced if he had chosen the first path. He continues to not regret his decision.
But the speaker seems more certain about his choice here than in some parts of the poem. In other lines, the second path is “perhaps” better, and supposedly less worn, but not necessarily so. Also, earlier in the poem, he talks about keeping the option of returning to the first path and wishing he could travel both. In this last stanza, in contrast, the speaker doesn’t envision sharing with others any of his doubts about the one path being “less traveled by.” He sees himself confidently saying it was a great decision, even though he will never know what would have happened if he’d taken the other path instead.
