what is stipulative definition

Answers

Answer 1

Answer: A simulative definition is a type of definition in which a new or currently-existing term is given a new specific meaning for the purposes of argument or discussion in a given context. When the term already exists, this definition may, but does not necessarily, contradict the dictionary definition of the term. Because of this, a simulative

definition cannot be "correct" or "incorrect"; it can only differ from other definitions, but it can be useful for its intended purpose.

Infer In the opening scene of Act II, how does Polonius want Reynaldo to check on Laertes's conduct? What does this instruction suggest about Polonius's character?

Answers

Answer and Explanation:

At the opening of Act II, we can see Polonio trying to manipulate Reynaldo. That's because he asks Reynaldo to investigate Laertes, ask people about him and spread many lies about Laertes, the worst possible lies. He says that if people believe the lies, it is because Laertes is a truly bad person, but what he really wants is to end Laertes' reputation.

This shows how treacherous and sneaky he is that he has no good intentions and that he cannot be trusted.

A cruel prince may be better for his subjects in the long run.
A cruel prince should not mind having murders and robberies.
A cruel prince will always have subjects who work hard for him.

Answers

The statement that best summarizes the author's claim is that a cruel prince may be better for his subjects in the long run.

Why is this sentence a good summary of the author's claim?Because it shows the main subject that the author is addressing in the text.Because it highlights the central idea of the text.Because she manages to convey the message of the text to the reader using few words.

During the reading of the text, we can see that the author states that the ideal is for a prince to be loved and feared by his subjects at the same time. This idea is reinforced throughout the text, but the author reinforces that this is very difficult to happen and that if it is not feasible, it is better for the prince to be feared and not loved by his people.

This is because, according to the author, the feared prince begins to act cruelly and although this is bad for the people, this is a very positive feature in the long term.

That's because a feared and cruel prince will establish tough policies that will organize society very strongly. This could prevent large national violence and cases of illegality that harm the population. Furthermore, a cruel prince will hunt traitors very hard and discourage other traitors from rising up.

(5) The World Health Organization (WHO) says that universal health care is achievable, even in poor countries. (7) If a responsible organization like the WHO says it is possible, then worldwide governments should implement universal healthcare immediately. Which revision is the best way to strengthen the argument? A sentence stating the claim should be added before sentence 1. Sentence 2 should be deleted because it does not clearly support the claim. Sentence 4 should be revised to incorporate strong supporting evidence. A sentence that includes a strong rebuttal should be added after sentence 7.

Answers

Answer:

The revision that is the best way to strengthen the argument is:

Sentence 4 should be revised to incorporate strong supporting evidence.

Explanation:

In order to defend his claims, an author needs to offer his audience strong arguments. Strong arguments need support, which comes for providing evidence of what is being claimed. Having that in mind, let's take a look at sentence 4:

4) That is a really terrible thing, and governments need to act.

Even though sentence 4 is addressing what was said in sentence 3, it is still a weak sentence to be included. It does not support the argument with evidence at all. It simply conveys the author's personal opinion and feelings, which is not enough to help strengthen this argument. The best way to revise it would be by adding evidence that truly conveys the idea that not having healthcare is a terrible thing.

Answers

Answer:

The answer is : People should rescue animals from pet stores.

Explanation:

I took the test

People should rescue animals from pet stores. Thus, option C is correct.

What is an animal shelter?

Stray, lost, deserted, or donated animals, primarily dogs, and cats are housed in a humane society or pound. Farm villages' animal cells, where wandering livestock was detained until its owners could be found, were where the phrase "pound" first appeared.

Like us, all pets need shelter to keep them safe from the elements and any predators. Animal rescue is a vitally important social activity that assists in defending cats from perilous circumstances that frequently involve brutality and abuse.

Due to evictions, pricey medical issues, or other inescapable events, many animals end themselves in shelters. The animal needs to be brought from the shelters and they are not to be overcrowded.

Therefore, option C is the correct option.

The Door

Story:

Trinity grabbed her stuff out of her mothers car and looked up at their new house. They had moved from their home city, New York, to live in Atlanta. She hated the idea of moving, but in a way, Atlanta was just like New York. It had tall buildings, unique stores, and friendly faces.

"Ready to see your room?" said Trinity's mother. "I guess..." Replied Trinity. Her mother grabbed the rest of her stuff and walked up to the huge house. Trinity's mother took a key out of her dress pocket and opened the door. The door opened. The house was pitch black inside. It smelled old, and Trinity could've swore she saw a rat run across her feet in the moonlight.

"Now where is that light switch?" Trinity's mother mumbled to herself. She put the stuff she was holding on the floor and began to walk around. Suddenly, all the lights turn on  and Trinity was able to vividly see the inside of the house. It was already packed with furniture from it's previous owners.

"So, what do 'ya think? Nice isn't it?" Trinity smiled awkwardly and looked up the stairs. There was an old looking door at the top of the stairs. It looked like it had came from a scary movie.

"Oh right! That's your room hun! Go ahead and check it out while i get everything settled  in" Insisted Trinity's mother. Trinity looked at her mother and back to the door. That sure looks creepy, Trinity thought, but she had to  go in sooner or later. She walked slowly up the stairs with her belongings and opened the door. It was pitch black. Nothing could be seen. She walked slowly inside the room, and suddenly, a burst of light filled the room. The door shut by itself and disappeared. The light was so bright that Trinity had to cover her eyes. The light started to fade, and next thing she knows she's passed out in a beautiful garden full of flowers. Trinity slowly opened her eyes, only to see a tiny woman with wings and a blue dress.

"It's about time You woke up!" She giggled. "Welcome to the Nexus Realm, my name is Stella!"

Calculate the minute ventilation for the 5mm tube and then for the 3 mm tube. What effect does decreasing tube radius have on resistance and minute ventilation? Read Article A.In 1925, there was an outbreak of disease in the small Alaskan town of Nome. The people needed medicine, but there were no roads, and the harsh weather made it impossible for a plane to reach them. The only way to get medicine to Nome was by dogsled. Twenty teams of dogs, each with a handler, or musher, braved dangerous conditions to bring the medicine from Nenana, Alaska, along the Iditarod Trail to Nome. The first team to set out was led by a dog named Togo. Togo was a small, black and white husky who had spent most of his life pulling sleds. When he was a puppy, his owner, Leonhard Seppala, never thought he would be a good sled dog. Togo was smaller than most dogs on the team. He was ill when he was very young, and at six months old, he was given away to be a house pet. Togo did not last long as a pet. He escaped several times to return to the sled dog kennels. He ran after the team every day on their training runs, and eventually, he was given a chance to run in harness. He had found his purpose.Togo was a natural leader, and he was the dog that Leonhard Seppala trusted the most. During the run from Nenana, he led his team through life-threatening situations. One night, when the darkness and snow made it impossible for Seppala to see where they were going, and they were in grave danger from the below-zero temperatures, Togo courageously led the team across a frozen lake, avoiding the broken areas of ice. He navigated to the rest stop, saving his team from freezing in the blizzard. Togo's team brought the medicine almost 200 miles, crossing a mountain with an elevation of more than 5,000 feet and swimming through ice floes on the other side. They reached their drop-off point and passed the medicine to the next team. After the drop-off, Togo rested for a while before taking off with some of the other dogs on his team to chase reindeer. It was like a small vacation after his hard work. The last team to carry the medicine was led by another dog, Balto. Balto's team made it to Nome in the nick of time. The medicine saved the town, and Balto was hailed as a hero dog. A statue of him was built and displayed for all to admire. Even though Togo faced greater danger and ran farther than Balto, most people honored only Balto. Togo was truly an unsung hero with the heart of a lion. Today, the dogsled journey to save Nome is remembered as the Great Race of Mercy, and every year, a dogsled race along the Iditarod Trail is run to remember the courageous and determined dogs who saved the people of Nome.Which reason supports the author's point that Togo overcame obstacles to become a sled dog? Togo struggled with being focused on his job and often chased after reindeer. Togo refused to run in formation with the team and instead ran behind them. Togo's owner, Leonhard Seppala, trusted Togo to lead the sled dogs on his team. Togo's small size made his owner think that he would never be a good sled dog.
